Pre-separation counseling offered

Pre-separation counseling is available 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 10, Sept. 17 and Sept. 24. You must complete your pre-separation counseling checklist no later than 90 days before retirement or separation. The DD2648 is required for final out-processing. Group pre-separation counseling is offered at 1 p.m. every Monday. Call 257-3592 to register.

If you are unable to attend a Monday class, you may stop by any time between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays to complete your mandatory DD Form 2648. No appointment necessary.

Attend a pre-deployment briefing

Learn how you and your family will cope with the challenges of a temporary duty assignment, deployment or remote tour that is longer than 30 days. Pre-deployment briefings are 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 10, Sept. 17 and Sept. 24. Married members are encouraged to bring their spouses.

Joining the civilian workforce

The transition assistance program is available to help military members prepare themselves for the civilian workforce.

The workshop runs 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 11-14, Sept. 18-21 and Sept. 25-28. Call to register.

Workshop set to help develop resumes

Do you have a marketable, effective resume to get you an interview for 5the job of your dreams? If not, this Resume Workshop will help you learn how you can emphasize your strengths on paper as you search for anew job.

The class will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 5 in Bldg. 2, Area C. Call 257-3592 to register

Make more of your personal finances

A Personal Finance class will be offered from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in Bldg. 2 Area C. The class will teach participants how to create and build wealth, budgeting, saving and investing. Call 257-3592 to register.

Family Services Loan Locker

The loan locker is available to newly-arrived, temporary duty, and permanent change of station personnel. Family Services volunteers maintain a well-stocked loan locker with items such as kitchen utensils, sleeping mats, baby cribs, car seats, tables, chairs and more, all free of charge. TAP Classes

Transition Assistance Program (TAP) seminars are set for 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 18 – 21, Sept. 25 – 28, Oct. 2 – 5 and Oct. 16 – 19. These three and one-half day classes fill up fast so early registration is recommended.

A TAP workshop is designed to assist our military transition into the civilian workforce. It will give you the tools you will need to help you successfully find employment.

Discussions will cover resume writing, interviewing skills, job search and more. Whether you are retiring or separating this class is geared to your needs.

Miscellaneous

Parents, tots playgroup available

An informal playgroup for families with children 5 years of age and younger meets 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesdays in Bldg. 1222, Area C. Call Cindy Schmierer at 845-1653.
