Make Labor Day weekend safe and fun
by Lt. Gen. Jack Hudson Commander, ASC
August 31, 2007

As we leave to enjoy our long Labor Day weekend, I want to personally thank each of you for the important work you do for our country.

Labor Day is a time that “celebrates the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of America.”

That definition truly describes the work each of you do here at ASC. It has been a busy, challenging, and rewarding year for us so far.

Take time this weekend to relax, enjoy, and reflect on all the good work you have done.

Labor Day is also the unofficial end of summer and reminds us that autumn is on its way.

It also winds up our 101 Critical Days of Summer. As you and your family enjoy this long weekend, I ask that you use wise judgment as you travel and participate in your weekend activities.

As always, use moderation in your alcohol consumption....remember the 0-0-1-3 rule — zero underage drinking, zero driving under the influence, one drink per hour, and no more than three drinks per sitting.

If you are the driver, a 0-0-0-0 policy is even better. Consider risk at all times and especially while traveling. Don’t press your driving times.

Be safe and enjoy this weekend!
