Senior Airman Jason Miller of the 74th Medical Operations Squadron was named Air Force Materiel Command Airman of the Year in a ceremony April 12.
Miller, a medical service journeyman for the Wright-Patterson Medical Center, had previously claimed Aeronautical Systems Center Airman of the Year and a Team Wright-Patt award.
His busy year of 2000 included several accomplishments professionally and in volunteer capacities. At the medical center, Miller was responsible for training and orienting several students in his department, and assisted in saving a patient’s life.
In addition to work responsibilities, Miller also completed two quarters at Sinclair Community College’s paramedic program with a 4.0 GPA, while also attaining his National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification.
Miller was also active in the local community doing volunteer work. He worked the fourth annual Air Force Marathon in September, and helped feed underprivileged people during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Miller will next compete at Air Force level to be considered one of the 12 Outstanding Airmen of the Year.
