AFCEA to host InfoTech 2007

The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association will sponsor InfoTech 2007, a conference and trade show, Oct. 23-25, at the Dayton Convention Center.
The theme is year is “Cyberspace and Information Technology…Flying in Formation.”
More than 2,500 industry, government, and academic professionals are expected to attend, and this year’s event not only will feature senior-level government speakers presenting cyberspace and IT views and needs of the military, but also a job fair and professional development courses.
According to Jerry Tritle, president of the Dayton-Wright AFCEA chapter, the event theme “was derived from recognizing the role that cyberspace plays in support of our great military. We have organized an outstanding group of senior-level government speakers who will present the cyberspace and information technology views and needs of today’s military. Topics will include how our government uses cyberspace for heightened mission success in today’s evolving world of national security.”
He added that InfoTech 2007 will provide “a forum for government and industry to share information about current and emerging issues and how technology is being developed and used to respond to today’s issues.”
People may register on line at www.afcea-infotech.org. Participants registering before Aug. 31 will get a discounted price of $795, and the conference will open at 10 a.m. Oct. 23. Registration and payments must be received by Oct. 15.
Speakers at InfoTech 2007 will include Gen. Bruce Carlson, commander of Air Force Materiel Command; Lt. Gen. David Deptula, deputy chief of staff for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance; Lt. Gen. Robert J. Elder, commander of Cyberspace Command; and Maj. Gen. William T. Lord, director of Cyberspace Transformation and Strategy.
Carl Day, TV-2 news anchor, will emcee the Wednesday evening banquet.
In addition, InfoTech 2007 will offer networking opportunities, panel discussions, and one-hour seminars.
The event will feature more than 100 exhibitors, and accredited training courses on management, business, and security will take place on Oct. 23 and 24 from 1 to 4:30 p.m.

U.S. government security clearance or having a background within IT, intelligence, engineering, military or government communities are encouraged to attend.
